Earlier this year Federation Sound dropped their first official release, the Flatlands Riddim,with an all-star line up of artists. It spawned a video for Mr. Lexx’s “Diggy” and several heavy rotation club anthems including Mr. Vegas & Natalie Storm’s “Doggy” and “Gyal Dem Waah Mi” by Terro 3000. Well aware of the worldwide trend in dancehall music Federation Sound have once again broken ground with the Flatlands Remix Project. Max Glazer and Kenny Meez hand-picked a small group of influential producers and asked them to re-imagine the songs, their only direction being “go crazy”.
A first of it’s kind, the Flatlands Remix Project takes all 12 songs from the original release and gives each one a remix by a different producer in a totally original and unique style. Also included are two bonus tracks – “Whining Queen” by Delly Ranks on the original Flatlands Riddim and Max Glazer’s “Brooklyn Dub Mix”, an old school style dubbed out version of the instrumental track.
